So I’m really sad to see our local Disney Store closing. It’s been around for a very, very long time. That used to be a major highlight for my sister and I when our parents would take us to the mall so we could visit the Disney Store when we couldn’t actually visit Disney World.
I’m really sad to see the Disney Store closing. The kids enjoy visiting the Disney Store. They get the same type of excitement that we used to get when we were kids and we’re really sorry to see it go.
We did take advantage of some of the closing sales. They had 30% off the whole store and we bought a lot. We bought a ton of stuff.
The first item that we got was Belle wearing a rose dress. Viola prefers dinosaurs to dolls, so when she asked for this one I thought, why not?
We are so sad to see our Disney Store closing!
Next, we have something for Viola. When you think of Florida you think of the swimming pools and sunshine and that’s one of our favorite things to do. I got Viola a bathing suit cover-up. On the bottom we have a Minnie Mouse patch and she’s got a nice glittery bow.
Michael mentioned to me a couple days ago that he really, really likes Stitch, so I got him a plush.
I got myself a Minnie Mouse crop sweatshirt. I like sizing up with cropped sweatshirts because it’s just a little more comfortable for me. There’s lots of polka dots, there’s a big Minnie bow, and Minnie’s name is embroidered.
We got a bathing suit cover for Viola so we got her a little bathing suit too. It’s a little two-piece with an off-the-shoulder top, with straps, and then it has bottoms and this little Minnie Mouse skirt. It’s covered in polka dots and as Viola said, it has this really uncomfortable headband that goes with it. I don’t know how much she’s going to use the headband. It’s really cute.
When I visited Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom a few days ago, I finally bought a Dooney & Bourke purse that I really liked. That was a hard decision for me because I like them all. I got a really plain black bag and I thought I should dress it up a bit. It’s a Sorcerer Mickey bag charm.
We got Disney clothing, toys, and collectible merchandise.
I bought myself something but I believe it’s probably a men’s size. It’s Dug! He’s soft and he’s fuzzy and he’s so cute! This is a small but it’s huge. It’s going to be kind of baggy.
We got something fun called Disney Rewind Collectible Mystery Figure. We love that kind of thing in this house. It looks like popcorn. You can get some great characters from some awesome Disney movies that you really just don’t see merchandise for these characters anywhere.
We have some more clothing but this time Viola and I are going to be twins! It looks kind of like Sorcerer Mickey. I have no idea what size I got. Viola’s pants are probably just a little bit big for her but she’s growing. She’ll grow into them.
Michael got a Stitch plush and Viola got a Tigger plush. They did have some plushes but it was a little picked over. We already have a lot of plush at home, but we really don’t have any Winnie the Pooh characters so she wanted to bring this guy home. He’s got a twisty, bouncy tail and he is just so cute.
We’re getting to the bottom of the bag. So Viola and I were talking about the Aristocats the other day and she remembered that one of the first pieces of Disney merch she ever got was a little baby Marie. So she got this shirt, it is just covered in Maries. All kinds of different expressions; there’s grumpy expressions, there’s happy expressions.
I grabbed Michael two shirts. I got him a red Mickey and I got him a gray Mickey. These are nice lightweight tops. They’re very cute. I don’t think he’ll mind wearing those.
When Viola saw that Michael was going to get a couple of Mickey tops, she wanted to get a Minnie top. There’s a bunch of different Minnies on this shirt. Some of them she’s looking very cute. Some of them she’s looking kind of surprised. It’s lined with red and it looks very kind of vintage.
And I also got Michael a long sleeve top. I wish they had this in my size. So there’s Mickey and the sleeves are a different color and they have stripes on them. What is he trying to do? I don’t know. It looks like Mickey’s getting into some trouble. Does Michael get into some trouble? Sometimes! Yep!
We will continue doing our Disney shopping on Shop Disney and at the WDW Parks.
The first item that Viola picked out when we went to the Disney Store was a pair of sunglasses. I’m guessing from the snowflake that these must be Elsa glasses. They’re very cute.
And we’ve got one more fun item. I had seen these at Walt Disney World and I grabbed some when we went to the Disney Store today. They are Disney Park Pals. We got the Cheshire Cat, Winnie the Pooh, and who’s that girl on the end? Minnie Mouse! Minnie Mouse! I’ve seen these before. I’m not entirely sure what they’re for but it looks like there is a stand included with each figure and it looks like with their hands they can sort of hold on to things. As it says, it can hold on to your favorite accessories.
Never mind. There’s more.
I got myself another cropped sweatshirt that I had actually been eyeing on Shop Disney for a while. It’s this pink Silly Symphony sweatshirt. I like the look of the tie-dye and it has this nice ruffle on the sleeve. If you can’t tell, I really like pink and blush.
Our Disney Store that is closing had mostly clothing items remaining. There were some toys, some plush, and some collectibles. The Wishables were all gone, the nuiMOs were all gone. Some of the things I was hoping I was going to get super lucky and score a good deal, um they were all gone already.
So we are so sorry to see our local Disney Store go. Um, but of course, we’ll be shopping online at Shop Disney and we’ll be shopping in person at the parks too. That’s my favorite way to buy some Disney merch.
Viola gave the Disney Store double thumbs up today. That’s as good as it gets.
