Books… remember those? The rectangle thingies that were made out of paper. The weather can be brutal but entertaining winter reads can take you away from your cabin fever.
Although books were a very big part of my childhood, it seems that younger generations have replaced them with electronic gadgets. I really wanted to share some of the books that I love and hope to inspire a little winter reading!
If I had thousands of children, picking my favorite book would be like picking my favorite child; I like them all for different reasons. These entertaining winter reads are some of my absolute faves!

Save your money because there are plenty of things around the house kids want to play with. You know every parent has some version of the same story. Their kid asks for an expensive gift. Someone buys the expensive gift. Kid is more interested in the twisty-ties holding it in the box.
While my husband was away on business, he sent a fun gift. While our son enjoyed the pricey toy, our daughter was amused with the packing paper. They both got the same amount of fun, but not for the same price.
You might have an entire room or two devoted to toys in your home, but that won’t prevent kids from complaining they are bored.
Our family has two children; 6 year old boy and 9 month old girl. They may not have much in common, but they often enjoy playing together. When I paid closer attention, I noticed they had a mutual enjoyment for stuff that wasn’t toys.
