Our family loves giving gifts that are both thoughtful and personal. I have a simple and inexpensive recipe for no bake cinnamon ornaments that makes this a thoughtful, fun, and fragrant gift. The holidays are already stressful, but this project is all fun! This is a much more enjoyable experience than shopping.
I have the bad habit of pinning a lot of recipes and projects that aren’t really practical. They’re just pretty. No bake cinnamon ornaments are easy, kid friendly & fun!
The holidays are all about family for us. My Mema never waited for special occasions to bake. Cinnamon ornaments were a way for her to give a gift that was handmade with the same kind of love that she baked into her cookies. It’s the same kind of love that has me revisiting her recipes all these years later. I love sharing my traditions with my children. I also hope that someday, they’ll do the same with their kids.
The prep only took a minute or two; measure three ingredients and mix. Dough was always the fun part of baking when I was a kid. I rolled it out then let the kids take their time making shapes. They used cookie but had more fun making shapes freestyle. Clean up was one large bowl and measuring cups. It was that easy!
You don’t need any heat for this recipe! When they finished making shapes, I laid the ornaments out to dry on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. I turned them over whenever I went into the kitchen just to keep the drying process even. By morning they were FINI!
I already had extra ornament hooks at home to hang them, but I got some twine and ribbon too. My craft supplies are a little light, but the possibilities are endless! You could paint them, add bells, use ribbons, anything!
