Fevers can be scary, but what do you really need to know about fevers in children?
Tis the season for fevers! Our family has been suffering for cabin fever since November, but today my son has a fever of a different kind.
As a concerned mother, I thought it was important to share a little info about fevers in children to help you make the best decision for your child.
Although I am no doctor (and nothing I have to say is more important than what your doctor will tell you), I have taken it upon myself to better understand fevers.
Family friendly romantic movies can be great for everyone in your home. They often share messages of love overcoming obstacles because love is the greatest superpower there is.
Our family usually prefers comedies or some brightly colored cartoon. Kissing in movies grosses out our 7 year old who would rather watch a good battle. Our toddler likes characters with big bright eyes and my husband usually only has time for sports and news. Romantic movies are definitely underappreciated and overlooked at our house.
Family friendly romantic movies can tell a good story and deliver a good message.
As a parent, you can make the best judgement call for what is or isn’t appropriate for your kids. Here’s a list of family friendly romantic movies that you and your sweethearts can enjoy together!
There is absolutely nothing fun about being sick! It’s even worse when are kids are not feeling well. A few sick day activities for kids will ensure their recovery is a happy one!
Little bodies need rest and nutrition to fight nasty germs (and you should consult a doctor, not me, for medical advice), but don’t forget that laughter is the best medicine! Entertaining our kids is a great way to make the most of an agonizing sick day!
Being sick can be scary for our little ones, but there are plenty of ways to distract them with a few fun sick day activities for kids.
When my husband asks what I did each day, I always reply like an angsty teenager. “Nothing,” I say with a shrug. Each and every moment of time was devoted to must-dos, leaving little to no time for those want-to-dos that get overlooked. The reality is, there are plenty of reasons why mom gets nothing done. Poor woman can’t even find a moment to go to the bathroom alone.
Mom gets nothing done from her to-do list but what she thinks is nothing, is just what the family needs to be happy and functional.
I couldn’t tell you what day of the week it is without looking at an electronic device, but somehow another year has happened. At a time when everyone else is reflecting on their accomplishments, I’m assessing all of the things that I didn’t do this year. My shameful to-do list often consists of tasks which have carried over from previous days, weeks, and months of neglect because of other higher priority tasks. Mom gets nothing done despite her exhaustion. Geesh, adulting is hard.
Save your money because there are plenty of things around the house kids want to play with. You know every parent has some version of the same story. Their kid asks for an expensive gift. Someone buys the expensive gift. Kid is more interested in the twisty-ties holding it in the box.
While my husband was away on business, he sent a fun gift. While our son enjoyed the pricey toy, our daughter was amused with the packing paper. They both got the same amount of fun, but not for the same price.
You might have an entire room or two devoted to toys in your home, but that won’t prevent kids from complaining they are bored.
Our family has two children; 6 year old boy and 9 month old girl. They may not have much in common, but they often enjoy playing together. When I paid closer attention, I noticed they had a mutual enjoyment for stuff that wasn’t toys.

I am so excited to share this easy recipe for Cloud Dough! It uses ingredients you probably already have in your home.
Spring is already keeping us busy! Yard work, spring cleaning, and a lot of errands I put off all winter. Today I took some time for a different kind of activity.
If your family loves homemade slime or play cooking, you’re gonna love this!
Be advised it is a VERY messy activity but well worth the clean up!
Motherhood (and the many messes associated with it) are something all moms can totally relate to!
Of all the places on the internet to share your tiny moment of peace in the bathroom, you have somehow ended up here!
Although the fun is just getting started here, I wanted to start at the beginning and share my unpredictable journey through motherhood.
After having my son in 2011, I started sharing my stories and some adorable photos at a place I created called Mommy Huh. I shared it mostly with friends and family. Soon after, I discovered it was an outlet for me to also share my thoughts about motherhood with others. It was a much needed place for me to declutter my mind. I had something I could actually control, unlike the little human who was full of surprises for me.
